Lyme Tick

Lyme ticks are hard bodied. These Lyme ticks are dark colored in nature (red, dark brown or blackish in color).

In North America, the black-legged tick or deer tick is the type of tick that carries Lyme disease as well as other co-infections. (In Europe, the sheep tick, castor bean tick or European castor bean tick are the usual suspects.)

Most people will not remember being bitten because Lyme ticks, especially at the nymph stage are so small they are hardly detected. Lyme tick secretions prevent the host from feeling pain.

Lyme Ticks are hard bodied and often VERY small!
